LTC Office Hours - Using Treatment Criteria for Antibiotic Therapy Decision MakingDate: 03.18.25 | 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Did you know that the Loeb (treatment) criteria, instead of the McGeer’s (surveillance) criteria, should be used to inform resident care decisions regarding initiation of antibiotics? The Loeb criteria help clinicians identify residents with a high likelihood of infection and initiate appropriate antibiotic treatment—often before diagnostic testing is available. On the other hand, these criteria can also rule out residents who do not require antibiotic treatment. Learn how to use the Loeb criteria to guide antibiotic treatment decisions in this office hours session.
