The Massachusetts Department of Public Health staff perform Infection Control Assessment and Response (ICAR) visits in healthcare facilities to assess IPC practices, both proactively and in response to outbreaks. During these visits, wound care practices are observed, and IPC breaches have been consistently identified. These IPC lapses lead to pathogen transmission, resident colonization and infection. During this webinar, we will review observed lapses and recommended wound care IPC practices.
