Unrecognized gaps in wound care practices are the primary cause of Group A Streptococcus (GAS) related morbidity and mortality in long term care (LTC) facilities (LTCFs). Learning and implementing wound-specific infection prevention and control strategies have proven to markedly improve LTCF resident outcomes and reduce death. This webinar will review common errors in specific wound care procedures performed in LTCFs and the appropriate IPC interventions to reduce wound-associated infections.
